 this picture was taken last year at Star Wars Celebration IV in LA. this picture shows me sitting in a line, under a wall, in the sun in full blast mode for at least an hour - and still looking fcking happy. those were the times..! part of the happy was our waiting in line to meet Billy Dee Williams [Lando Calrissian in SW V & VI]. now, I rather like them both. and I have a difficulty explaining what the magic was to anyone who was not there [lame, aye], but... that big grin up there? totally justified. why today of all times? 'cause we remembered the occasion over some pasta carbonara, and we indeed can't take spaghetti seriously any more. so there's a perfect happy moment that will last us for years... inexplicable '-) and that is just the thing, because today I've been also reminded, though less happily, of my curse of wanting things that are not. they either do not exist, cannot exist, or are so far beyond my grasp they could just as easily be nonexistent. there. I find I do not want quite a lot of stuff I'm perhaps supposed to want. I can do without. material, sensible things... and then I crave to the point of starvation something pure, painful and well-written. *facepalm* yes, that'd be going back to XF, because there is this thing, poignant [all the way from profoundly moving to keenly distressing to the mind or feelings, right through agreeably intense or stimulating] and beautiful and crazy in the unique XF way... and I want to see it written down right. as many times as it takes. [oh, it's almost like looking for the right Vetinari portrait by Paul Kidby #-) everquest] as is, it remains an inexplicable wonder. hunger is a terrible thing. Tags: mine, pix, rl, sw, xf

(2) а на Скайуокера-младшего и Винду в одном... континууме я бы посмотрела, да. (3) к слову о Винду и его неразделенной пламенной любви к демократии, им со Скиннером пересечься-таки не помешало бы, эпизод третий - сезон пятый? (4) к слову о Скиннере, если покрасить его в черное с красным... (и золото, с Острова периода утопления...) ...и уже не надо никакой травы #-) это не autoerotic asphyxiation, это хуже. я ворчу, а что делать? человек - существо пристрастное. я нежно люблю и ВК со товарищи, и "Звездные войны", и "Пиратов Карибского моря", и "Маленькие трагедии", и Булгакова, и Эко, и ПТерри... етц... о, да, а еще есть разнообразная мифология\легендариум и Г.Л.Олди, долгой им жизни и доброго здравия. а потом находятся славные, здравомыслящие люди, от избытка чувств выдающие такое, что ой. оно, конечно, все фигня, но где Лукас и где ВК и что они все курили? слава Богу, каждый создал свой мир в меру своих сил и способностей, и за мир этот ответил, и делить им вроде бы нечего..? аи, господа лингвисты, подскажите пожалуйста, как по-эльфийски будет "полувысокое искусство"? (ну вот. пробежалась по словарям, и ворчать почти расхотелось. слова для "halved art" есть, представления, как их правильно соединить, нет ни малейшего. мы варвары, не ламатьявно нам... ритм хорош, однако... никому нах не нужен одичавший словоблуд рифмоплет с сомнительными гондорскими корнями?) у меня, конечно, температура, и я, конечно, гоню, но при чем Лукас к изврату творчеству Питера Джексона с компанией, мну не догоняеть... Лукас вроде бы на эпос не замахивался оно само приползло и вивисекции классике не делал? (а вот "пересекся" у меня ВК почему-то в первую очередь именно с Войнами. It has to be May 17th (Star Wars Episode II premiere day in Israel) approaching. Star Wars fluids in the air, plus the craze, SW-related and general... I've done it!!!!!!!!!! I have written the insane ficlet I threatened Zoi with '-) It all started with a relatively innocent suggestion of piercings for Jar Jar Binks, but then... Innocence & me do not, I'm afraid, mix well '-) Notes: 1) George Lucas, though he does own the worlds and the characters, has got absolutely nothing to do with this plot. He's got standards, after all. 2) Some people (hello Alli!) may get a wrong impression of me not liking Ewan McGregor. But I do like him. His Obi-Wan Kenobi, now... hehe '-) 3) Pillow Book, referred to, belongs to... its creators, bless'em. 4) An occasional lapse into Pterry's style is to be blamed on my excessive reading. 5) See above, I can spell Binks.
