Given that Tufty the road safety squirrel, the Test Card Girl and Sam & Gene rendered as Camberwick Green characters are all actually part of canon this really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to anyone. Fanon has produced Sam/Mobile phone, Sam/Pencil case and even Sam/Procedure stories amongst others. In this particular pair of stories Mikey reveals Sam to be a secret furry and Gene to be much more of a hedonist than even canon might at first suggest. These stories should, by rights, have ended up being a rather cracky ride to the pervy side of PWP but somehow, despite the fact that yes, they are kinky and hot as hell, in Mikey’s skilled hands they become much more than that. It has everything to do with how she manages to keep Sam and Gene so thoroughly in character throughout while building a logical explanation for how Sam acquired his particular kink and for why Gene is prepared to go along with it. Since landing in this terrible dream of a coma, or death, or Hell, he had not even felt the urge to have a ‘friend’ to play with. So much of his life had shut down – he barely knew how to ask Annie out for a date, he was drinking whisky straight, and he was wearing Cuban heels – that he was comfortable not feeling his usual desires and needs. Jerking off once a day in his flat with his eyes closed seemed to take care of business well enough, until now. Paul Giamatti plays Tolstoy's trusted follower Chertkov, a supporter of the writer's non-violent socialist Christian movement who becomes Sofia's cunning adversary, James McAvoy a naive private secretary sent by Chertkov to work for Tolstoy. Anne-Marie Duff stars as Tolstoy's daughter Sasha, Kerry Condon is McAvoy's love interest. Trailer looks good and praise from festivals for the movie is high, though it's hard to judge from the trailer if there's anything Oscar-worthy. Greenberg HD480p 44MB HD720p 100MBComedic drama about a man's (Ben Stiller) life at the crossroads. When he ends up house-sitting at his brother's home in Los Angeles he strikes up an unlikely friendship with his brother's assistant (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer. Their encounters lead to an uncertain and wonderfully vulnerable courtship. Also part of the cast are Rhys Ifans, Mark Duplass, Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Chris Messina. Directed by Noah Baumbach ( The Squid and the Whale, Margot at the Wedding) who also wrote the story together with his wife Jennifer Jason Leigh. I think I'll be able to relate to at least parts of the story. And if this leads to mumblecore movies with a focus I'll like that too. Wonderful World 30 MB OnlineBittersweet comedy about a failed children's folk singer (Matthew Broderick) and an every-other-weekend dad to his young daughter (Jodelle Ferland), who prefers pretty much anything to listening to her dad's pessimistic ramblings. Struggling in all aspects of his life, his only comforts come from smoking marijuana alone and regular chess games with his smart and opinionated roommate Ibou (Michael Kenneth Williams). When Ibou is suddenly struck ill he pours his energy into a lawsuit against the city for depraved indifference. His life begins to turn around with the arrival of Ibou's beautiful and sexy sister (Sanaa Lathan) from Senegal. Maybe a little too heavy on the sterotypical side but Broderick may make it worthwhile. Season of the Witch HD480p 45MB HD720p 108MBSupernatural thriller in which a 14th century Crusader (Nicolas Cage) who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. Directed by Dominic Sena ( Whiteout, Swordfish, Gone in Sixty Seconds). Stephen Graham, Ulrich Thomsen, Stephen Campbell Moore and Christopher Lee round up the cast. Just as we thought Cage's output might be improving we suffer a setback. Youth in Revolt HD480p 100MB HD720p 130MBAnother trailer, now with 100% more Steve Buscemi, for this coming-of-age romantic, comedic drama that tells the tale of an insecure teenager (Michael Cera) and his quest to win the heart of a girl and hopefully lose his virginity along the way. In order to do so he creates a much bolder and self-assured version of himself. Based on the novel by C.D. Payne. Also part of the cast are Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Fred Willard and Zach Galifianakis. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief HD480p 50MB HD720p 124MBAs previously "threatened", hi-def versions of the recently posted trailer for the fantasy adventure.

However, I've found the yaoi version, enjoyed it more than the original, and haven't been able to update the previous rec so you get it like this. All the links have changed. And since I'm doing this, expect another rec today as an apology. Most future/au Naruto fanfics I read, our hero has become Hokage and/or involved with Sakura ... or Hinata ... or Sasuke, if I'm lucky. Usually if he's not Hokage, he's being groomed. Orochimaru is dead and Sasuke was either retrieved before going to the 'dark side' or recovered after killing his brother. As I'm sure you've been able to tell from my recs, I really enjoy happy endings .. ahem, with hot, steamy romance thrown in for good measure. But sometimes, a great story comes along with a totally different slant on the future. Set when Team 7 would be 25, Walking Corpse is thought-provoking and haunting, a trip to where Masashi Kishimoto, the author and originator of Naruto, won't ever take us but could have so easily gone - if this wasn't just a kid's show. It's mostly about who Naruto could be, perhaps should be, and may one day develop into if Masashi Kishimoto decides to end the series for good. After reading it, I know it changed how I saw the orange-suited wonder. So take a couple hours and try an oldie but goodie that's still in my favorites folder .. even though it makes me cry. ;-o Warning: Characters Death, Major Characters Deaths, & 3 hankie alert. Fandom: BAND OF BROTHERS Pairing: Winters/Nixon Length: one-shot Author on LJ: ishmael_tonightAuthor Website: unknown Why this must be read: Nixon finally takes Winters to Chicago, but that's really not the point at all. Told in fragments of internal monologues, this short fic packs a real punch. It gives us an unsentimental glimpse of Nixon after the war, how he's just barely keeping himself together, which rings very true; the moments of grace with Winters are all the more poignant in contrast. Train-of-thought is a hard style to pull off, but Ishmael nails it. Home: is where the heart is, is where the name on town hall matches your own. Dick sits across the table from you, reading the paper and drinking coffee. He does this, sometimes, after the wives and girlfriends pack their things and leave, after the bad nights (and how he always knows, well, is something you're not looking into too deeply). You always offer him (more) eggs, or pancakes, or, hell, a hamburger or filet mignon or escar-fucking-gots; he always smiles that smile and says, “just coffee's fine, I ate at home.”

Fandom: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER Pairing: Faith/Buffy Length: one-shot Author on LJ: deird1Author Website: HereWhy this must be read: I do like a good bit of uncomplicated, cheerful fluff. It's quite difficult to make that work with Buffy/Faith since their relationship is anything but light; they have a dark, complicated past together and the friction is usually what makes me love them so much. Not in this fic. In this fic, I love the way Faith knows Buffy while Buffy remains clueless. I love what Faith sees and the way she reacts. It's set post-Chosen but isn't set in the comicverse. Usually that wouldn't appeal to me (I love season eight) but this is just a brilliantly happy ficlet and I can't resist it. B's completely clueless. And never going to make the first move.
So in the end, she grabs Dawn and talks it out with her, and after looking ridiculously smug and saying "I knew it!" a whole bunch of times, Dawn tells her that Buffy's still all freaked out after her last few relationships - well, duh - and plus she's "just hopeless, generally", and concludes that Faith's going to have to take her by surprise.
Three rescheduled patrols, one fake emergency, two cab rides, and one pink teddy bear later, she pulls her mouth away from Buffy's, watching the colour rise in her cheeks, tucks a stray piece of hair behind Buffy's ear, and says bluntly "See, B, this stuff I've just been doing - all the frenching? The boys seem to fit so well into so many different scenario's. Meg Tipper has created one of my favorite AUs, which she refers to as her NYC AU, set in modern day New York City. In this AU, Ezra and Josiah are partners in a law firm. Chris, Buck and Nathan are their 'go to' detectives. JD is their law clerk, and Vin is their client. The story focuses on trying to help Vin clear his name, This is a familiar plot in OW stories, but I don't think I've read a better version of it in a modern AU. The boys are completely in character and her descriptions of the city are vivid. It's just a wonderful adventure. The fic was Co-winner of the 2004 M.O.M. Brass Mirror Award for Best Gen Non-ATF AU Fic. Vivid, lyrical prose brings every detail of the scene in Hutch’s apartment to life, and perfectly captures the intensity of how these two keep each other sane. Starsky's here because he's seen it coming. With Hutch, the shouting and the frustration and the negotiation and the demanding that goes on in Dobey's office, that's surface, chop on the ocean, smoothed by a slow stroke of wind, and the water doesn't remember the next day when the storm's past. There's more there, though, underneath where the currents are, and it doesn't come out in the shouting in Dobey's office. It all comes out in the curve of his back. Is one of the very best melodramas in Torchwood fandom, and I absolutely mean that as a compliment. There's something about a long, plotty, well-done melodrama, full of fast-paced action, over-the-top emotion, improbable escapes and plot-twists, and, of course, true love, that is totally irresistible and utterly satisfying. This is one of those stories. *happy sigh* What Never Should Be Warning: Do read the warnings on the story itself, as there's mild non-con and some violence. Too many read like OC high school harlequin romances; Michelerene's work is the exception. Her The Demilitarized Zone is a funny, smart, sassy reworking of the Naruto universe in a business setting. From Summary - "Itachi Uchiha has always had a sadistic streak when it came to his little brother. Now the perfect opportunity has presented itself and he just can't let it go by. He does love him after all." Heh. When President of Uchiha Int'l, Itachi, gets feed up with the 'war' going on in the office between his 2 new VPs, his brother Sasuke & newcomer Uzimake Naruto, he sends them off to Guy's Youthful Spring Corporate Teamwork Retreat. But there is no way Itachi could have planned this result. Like an Elmore Leonard novel, the author keeps you guessing until the very end as she mixes humor and pathos. There is always new twists. The only negative is there is no breaks btw scenes so it can be confusing if you are just skimming. If you enjoy this AU, try her giant ER AU/AR called All the Small Things. But other pressures they didn't count on - including clan Hyuugai's and their own expectations - could derail their new relationship. What's a lazy jounin just promoted to War Leader to do? Fast, fun, and insightful, it's a delightful romp and if you can't get enough (like me), also enjoy the series of one-shots sequels (so far, 15) provided in More Unspoken Rules. This fic will make you ache for Blithe, for everything he was and wasn't and could have been, and maybe there's a bit of you in Blithe and his impossible situation. A straightforward and beautiful character study. “You’re too damn smart for your own damn good sometimes,” she says, “but you can’t just go thinking yourself through a war, Albert. Fandom: BASEBALL RPF Pairing: Brian McCann/Jeff Francoeur Length: 12,331 Author on LJ: hollycombAuthor Website: N/A Why this must be read: I have a list of bulletproof - not kinks, exactly - more like . . . plot points or storytelling devices, or what have you that I love seeing touched on in fic. One is the coming-of-age story. The other is internal religious conflict. Another is how the guys' relationship affects their wives/girlfriends and the relationships they have with them. Yet another is how the media and the league react to the players' relationship. Rarely are all four tackled in one story, but hollycomb does it here and she does it well. Brian's internal conflict, as well as the conflicts between Brian and Jeff, Brian and his wife Ashley, and Brian and Jeff's wife Catie give the story so many layers and dimensions. All the characters are sympathetic; there are no villains here. They're all well-rounded and emotionally complex. Another thing that has made me a fan is Forget Everything I Ever Said's "resolute lack of a resolution," as americanleaguer gets that.
